Vinyasa Flow Yoga (Adults):
Vinyasa flow is the practice of coordinating specific postures with rhythmic breathing. It is designed to energise the body creating heat and vitality as well as building core strength. Yoga can relax, energise, reduce stress levels, increase flexibility, release tension in the joints, aid sleep and create a general overall feeling of well being in the body and mind.
What to expect:
The adult class will typically start with a brief session of basic breathing to help focus the mind and body. We will then move on to warming up the muscles and key joints in preparation for a sequence of postures. Followed by the peak pose which will lead in to the counter pose part of the lesson and finishing with a guided relaxation.
What to bring:
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your yoga mat with you if you have one. A few spare mats will be available to borrow. You may choose to bring a blanket with you to use in the relaxation part of the lesson. In some lessons we will use yoga straps and blocks which will be provided if you do not have your own. Please feel free to bring a drink with you. It is advisable to limit food intake for around 2 hours before the lesson start time.
Children’s Yoga:
Children’s yoga is all about having fun! Children are introduced to the concepts of simple and accessible breath work, posture work that inspires exploration of how their bodies move and relaxation to help children still and calm from within.
